2025 has proved a fruitful year for Eora's favourite genre-blending live-electronic outfit, Miramar. Having released four singles this year, all varied in sound but still distinctly theirs, the group are today sharing the final track 'Let's Go Out' from their sophomore EP Best Of A Thing, out now via Rupert George. Stream HERE.
To celebrate the EP release, Miramar will do what they do best - throw a party, fill it with fans, family, and friends alike, and make it a night to remember. Hosted at Enmore's The Trocadero Room tomorrow night, punters can expect to hear Miramar perform their EP in full, plus a few other cuts, as well as witness some of Sydney's finest RAYHAB and Clay Western open up the show.
Best Of A Thing is a record grounded in Miramar's limitless love for their community. Previous single 'Hit the Town' - a collaboration with fellow Sydney outfit Barley Passable - pointed to their love of the Australian live music scene, as a rallying cry against its decline. Before that, 'Work It Out' and 'Highlight Of My Week' showed there's power in vulnerability and connection. Lead EP single 'In the Morning' saw them dance through some of life's curveballs, and come out the other side.
Following suit is 'Let's Go Out', an indie-electronic tribute to the positive impact that a good night out with friends can have on mental health. The track features vocals of the band and their friends taken from nights out clubbing or watching live music. These snippets highlight the raw emotion of these moments, and the beautiful simplicity of doing what you love with the people you love.
"There's a lot going wrong with the world, but with this EP we really wanted to reflect on what keeps us going through it all," says Miramar. "Those small moments you look forward to, the people who lift you up. Our friends, our music, our community.
"We see a lot of people around us becoming more isolated by work or lifestyle or whatever, with this EP we just want to reach out and let them know that it's OK to just enjoy your youth a bit."
In May, Miramar celebrated three years of their self-curated live series Club Miramar with a mammoth lineup of local talent including the likes of Charlie Shell, Roxy Lotz, Bread Club, LUPO.THEBOY and more, hosted back where it all began at Sydney's iconic Chippo Hotel. Since its inception, Club Miramar has has sold hundreds of tickets across multiple iterations spanning club nights, residencies, and DJ sets.
Earlier this year, Miramar played a career-defining show supporting iconic English electronic duo Groove Armada at a sold out Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. In the months following, Miramar also joined the lineup for shows with Mickey Kojack, Djanaba, and Northeast Party House.
Miramar's 2025 releases 'Hit the Town', 'Highlight Of My Week' 'Work It Out', and 'In the Morning' have been supported on air by triple j and Unearthed, alongside praise from the likes of Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Happy Mag, Women In Pop, The Music, AAA Backstage, and many more. Across their releases Miramar have also landed community radio airplay on FBi, 2SER, SYN (rotation - 'Hit the Town'), JOY (rotation - 'Work It Out') and Bay FM, and have supported Hellcat Speedracer, RAAVE TAPES, Ivey and more.
Having each grown up in regional towns, Miramar - comprised of Rosh Yau (vocals), Sam Langley (producer), and Matt Sampson (producer) - centre the project around community and connection. With their hometown music communities small but tightly knit and indie-oriented, the trio leant on that mentality when relocating to Sydney and meeting at university, and found their place through creating music and embracing the local live scene.
