Have you been enjoying drinking your plastic fruit juice or plastic soft drink?

WHAT? You haven't tried it yet? Actually, you probably have!

If you store water, juice or soft drink in PET bottles (PET being short for polyethylene terephthalate), then unfortunately you have probably tried this dangerous brew.

Scientists stored mineral water in some of these bottles - some in daylight - some in the dark. One month later, they tested concentrates in the water. The bottles had leaked chemicals into the water that can actually warp people's genes. The ones in the daylight were worse than the bottles stored in the dark.

Also, the plastic bag your bread comes in, has been shown to leak lead. The lead comes from the colour and designs on the plastic.

So whatever you do, don't store food or leftovers in that plastic!
