In its 11th year at Melbourne Museum, Top Designs showcases the works of some of Victoria's most exceptional emerging designers. Featuring 122 works by 108 students from government, Catholic and independent schools across Victoria, the exhibition includes everything from furniture and fashion to graphic design and photography.
All the works on show were produced as part of VCE studies in the disciplines of Media, Design and Technology, Food and Technology, Visual Communication and Design, Systems Engineering and VET Interactive Digital Media. 285 students were shortlisted for the exhibition from over 1,500 applications, with the exhibitors selected by six specialist panellists. |

Fifteen different ticket and travel packages for the 5th Dungog Film Festival (DFF) are being made available for the world's largest celebration of Australian film.
After record numbers of attendees in 2010, more than 10,000 people are expected to flood into the Hunter Valley town this autumn for the four day event.
The annual festival will run from Thursday to Sunday (26-29th May, 2011), with more than 160 Australian films including World Premieres, being shown, Master Classes, Gala Events, Parties and the fabulous local Main Street Parade. |

A heady look at the world of New Burlesque, On Tour tells the story of Joachim, a former television producer who has moved from France to America to escape all the problems of his old life. Re-invented as an entrepreneurial showman, he returns to France with a team of brilliant burlesque performers for what feels like the biggest gamble of his life. But with burnt bridges still smouldering, it's the long way around for Joachim. |

DigiSPAA, Australia and New Zealand's platform for the celebration and acknowledgment of independent digital filmmaking, has announced the launch of its seventh annual competition. As well as offering one of the most lucrative film prizes in Australasia, the winner receives a recognised career boost with the support of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA), the MOVIE EXTRA Channel and CineMart International Film Festival Rotterdam.
DigiSPAA is a creative project of SPAA that encourages filmmakers to enter their independently-funded digital feature films and aims to support filmmaking that is affordable, creative and appealing to audiences. The competition embraces the importance and growing prevalence of digital filmmaking in the industry. DigiSPAA 2011 will look to emulate the success of last year's competition, which received a record 28 entries.
For this year's winner, the 2011 DigiSPAA competition boasts a prize pool of $15,000 cash and $20,000 worth of post-production, a guaranteed screening of the winning film on the Movie Extra channel, plus a return airfare and free registration to the prestigious CineMart International Film Festival Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. |
