I help to coordinate and run a weekly activity program for underprivileged girls in my neighbourhood, aged 8-13 years.

- What was your first job?
When I was 15 I worked as an early morning receptionist at a Radio Station (before going to school for the day).
- What inspired you to choose the particular career you're working in now?
I was inspired by the opportunity to make a small difference to the lives of those less fortunate than me, and because of my love for children.
- What qualifications are needed to work in this field?
No specific qualifications are needed. But it helps to have the aptitude to work in a team environment, to be responsible and committed to your role, to have a positive attitude and understand the needs of children.
- What are the best aspects about your job?
Being inspired by the youthful energy of a group of naturally gifted girls and seeing so many gorgeous smiles. Often I feel like I learn more from them, than they do from me!

None

- Are there many employment opportunities?
Volunteer work is an excellent way to get some experience in a career field of interest to you. It's a great foundation to branch off into other related fields and can often lead onto part-time or full-time employment opportunities, anything from a Government Youth Project Facilitator to working with people who have disabilities.
