Life Changing Experiences Foundation is holding a Spring Garden Party on October 8th to help raise funds for their main initiative the NIVEA SISTER2sister program. They will also be celebrating their 8th birthday, and the 100th birthday of their main sponsor NIVEA.
The event will be hosted by Sarah Wilson from Eat Yourself Sexy and there will be a guest appearance by Jacinta Tynan who is a patron of the NIVEA SISTER2sister program.
The NIVEA SISTER2sister Program is a 12 month mentoring initiative for at risk teenage girls who have been exposed to abuse and/or neglect. The program provides the girls with female mentors (Big Sisters) who inspire and motivate them to turn to their lives around.
Tickets to the Spring Garden party cost $80.00 and this includes; cocktail canapes, champagne and beverages. For that extra special treat there will be cupcakes, chocolate fondue, marshmallows and all things girly. |

With New Years Day on a Saturday in 2011, the run/walk will occur on Sunday, so that Friday night's festivities will not impact performances on the day. Consequently, all participants have the opportunity to get in an extra days training - their first for the year! - before heading to Portsea for the main event. Don't forget, Monday is a public holiday! So be competitive, give it your all, so at the end of the day you can lay back, put your feet up and turn off that alarm clock! It will not be required after that effort.
The Infolio Portsea Twilight is one of Australia's most scenic and challenging courses, boasting breathtaking Bass Strait and Port Phillip views. With a 6.7km or 2.7km run/walk along the roads and trails of the Point Nepean National Park, the course takes in hills, coastal parkland and exquisite natural landscapes. Similar to last year's event, rather than the final 1.5km sand run to the finish, 2011 will see participants take on 123 steps. |

The inaugural Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k will take place on Sunday 8 July 2012, with a flat and fast course designed for runners to test their pace and endurance as they prepare for the longer distance classics on the running calendar.
The Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k will be run as a one lap loop course which hugs the harbour foreshore to ensure spectacular views throughout. Starting on George Street in The Rocks, the course will take runners along Hickson Road, through Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and back into The Rocks to the finish line at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. |

Participants can choose from a list of more than 650 charities to run and raise funds for. Last year the City2Surf raised more than $3.8m for charity and this year the target has been set at $5m, which the event is well on its way to achieve with $65,000 already raised before entries open. |

No Limits, a magazine-style show produced and presented by people with disabilities will screen Thursday nights; while Dance Cancer Initiative will showcase emerging Australian talent to raise funds for the Cancer Council Victoria.
No Limits will premiere on Aurora on Thursday 16th August at 6pm. It aims to challenge the stereotypes of disabled people and reveal the difficult and controversial issues they face.
Dance Cancer Initiative (DCI) has its Australian premiere from Friday 24th of August at 7.30pm on Aurora, giving DCI the opportunity to expose local talent in front of a national audience.
All money raised from the broadcast will be donated to the Cancer Council Victoria for research, counselling and well-being programs. |
