The inaugural Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k will take place on Sunday 8 July 2012, with a flat and fast course designed for runners to test their pace and endurance as they prepare for the longer distance classics on the running calendar.

The Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k will be run as a one lap loop course which hugs the harbour foreshore to ensure spectacular views throughout. Starting on George Street in The Rocks, the course will take runners along Hickson Road, through Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and back into The Rocks to the finish line at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

On 'Bundraiser Day' 615 Bakers Delight bakeries nationwide will donate $1 from every six-pack of hot cross buns sold to raise over $128,000 for essential medical equipment for the hospitals.

Bakers Delight's support in NSW will be put towards the Sydney Children's Hospital, enabling them to purchase a Ligasure, specifically used in children's kidney transplants.

A key part of the City2Surf is fundraising and those taking part are encouraged to make their efforts even more worthwhile by raising money for a cause close to their hearts.

Participants can choose from a list of more than 650 charities to run and raise funds for. Last year the City2Surf raised more than $3.8m for charity and this year the target has been set at $5m, which the event is well on its way to achieve with $65,000 already raised before entries open.

Each year in the month of June the Heart Foundation runs the Go Red for Women campaign to raise awareness of heart disease and provide women with practical ideas on how to be heart healthy. As part of the campaign we are encouraging women to sign up for our free Go Red for Women Healthy Heart Challenge to help raise awareness and lower heart disease risk.

No Limits and Dance Cancer Initiative

Aurora, Australia's leading not-for-profit subscription community TV channel, announced the launch of two new programs. No Limits, a magazine-style show produced and presented by people with disabilities will screen Thursday nights; while Dance Cancer Initiative will showcase emerging Australian talent to raise funds for the Cancer Council Victoria.

No Limits will premiere on Aurora on Thursday 16th August at 6pm. It aims to challenge the stereotypes of disabled people and reveal the difficult and controversial issues they face.

Dance Cancer Initiative (DCI) has its Australian premiere from Friday 24th of August at 7.30pm on Aurora, giving DCI the opportunity to expose local talent in front of a national audience.

All money raised from the broadcast will be donated to the Cancer Council Victoria for research, counselling and well-being programs.

24 Hour Treadmill Challenge

Treadmills are booked in 30 minute time slots with a minimum donation registration fee of $35 per 30 minutes. Participants can book multiple, consecutive or random timeslots over the 24 hour period and businesses/groups can book teams to run on treadmills consecutively.

The 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge launches the 15th annual Very Special Kids Piggy Bank Appeal which aims to raise $1 million in September. Very Special Kids is a unique organisation that supports families throughout their experience of caring for children with life-threatening illnesses, from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement.
