Crane Bar Restaurant

Crane Bar Restaurant, Sydney's newest Japanese bar, dining and event venue launched to industry representatives, celebrities, socialites and the media on 8th of May 2013 in a sumptuous evening of eclectic live entertainment, fabulous food and a stream of unique and delicious beverages.

The latest addition to the recently revitalised Bayswater Rd precinct, Crane Bar Restaurant transports guests to an oriental oasis, serving the best in Japanese fusion cuisine and signature beverages – and the launch event was certainly no exception.

Media and VIP guests, including X Factor Host Luke Jacobz, Home and Away's Dan Ewing and wife, Marni Little, were on hand to celebrate the arrival of this unique venue to the infamous Potts Point strip.

Japanese percussionists greeted guests on arrival with a rousing performance on traditional drums. The performers were flanked by a bevy of stunning Geishas who roamed the venue serving carefully selected canapés from the restaurant's enticing menu.

Once inside, Crane Bar Restaurant Executive Chef Taichi Ito wowed guests by transforming a 50kg whole, fresh Tuna into bite sized servings of the highest-quality sashimi.

Chef Ito served up Japanese classics and Crane fusion specialities throughout the evening, including delicate Sea Barramundi in White Soy, Crispy Chicken Karaage with Wasabi Mayo and Crane's legendary Spicy Prawn Rolls.

Cocktails and beverages created by Crane Bar Restaurant's resident mixologist Thiago Santos included Ketel One Citron Vodka, La Prova Sparkling Pinot Grigio, Ashbourne Shiraz and Front Row Sauvignon Blanc.

Co-Owner Sarah Budge was thrilled with the interest and excitement for the launch 'We've been inundated with interest about tonight's event and the venue in general.

It was a true team effort and it showed. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd was buzzing, it was exactly what we wanted and we're so pleased we could introduce Crane to Sydney with such a celebration."

The signature cocktails were garnished in Crane's characteristic style with the restaurant and bar's namesake, miniature paper cranes, perched delicately on the rim of guests' glasses.

Sydney's most vibrant venue, Crane Bar Restaurant has late night dining options with an enviable 24 hour license. Corporate and social events can be held throughout the distinct spaces suitable for 2 – 350 guests.
