Upon eagles wings
Towards the horizon
Lost forever

Lingering
An unwanted shadow
Creeping
Ready to pounce

Building its walls
Restricting, restraining
Holding back, containing
Measuring our limits

Bringing order
Enabling routine
Taking charge

SECRETS

I try to change these feelings, these emotions in my head
I wonder if you listen or are these words best left unsaid?
If I were to explain the truth in me, the certainty that this is real
Would you understand the reasons, and how I honestly feel?
I want to express these desires, these dreams within my heart
Even though you do not hear me
Even though we are worlds apart
You may begin to question how I can feel this way
Yet I've been shown a miracle, every second of every day.
The beauty of your presence, the honesty in your soul
The ray of light you bring to me, is a privilege to behold.
So for now I keep this secret, hidden from the world to see
Until the fear subsides to show
How much you mean to me.

In front of my mirror
I stand and look,
I wish to God my tummy he took
My bum, my thighs my feet as well,
When they got big I just can't tell.
In front of my mirror
I stand and frown,
I wish my skin were a little more brown,
My chin, my nose my fingernails too,
They stay the same there's nothing I can do.
In front of my mirror,
I stand and smile,
I think these thoughts for a short while,
My mind, my humour my soul you see,
All of these things they make up me.
In front of mirror,
I stand and grin,
I wouldn't be Lee-Anne if I were thin,
My eyes, my smile my heart's in place,
All of me together not just my case.

MUM

I know I am a child in your eyes
But the child inside everyone dies
What I am I owe it all to you
You're the one who got me through
You're not only my mum you're my best friend
The one who will be there until the very end
Through all the friends who come and go
Through all the boyfriends who don't understand no
I want you to know I love you more than words ever say
And I want to thank you for loving every single day
I am growing up and moving on
And I know I have done some things wrong
But I can only learn from my mistakes
And I think inside you know I have what it takes
For me to grow up as the person you brought me up to be
I know that every time you look at me
I'll always be your baby girl.

HEARTS OF THE WORLD

To all the broken hearts in this world,
Your cries I can hear,
I am what I am and I am loved,
Listen to me loud and clear.

Did I ever tell you,
That your heart was broken,
So someone could mend it,
And make it better once it re-opens?

I once had a broken heart,
The pain was unbearable,
But now my life has started again,
And my love feels unbelievable.

So forget all the pain you have,
But remember all the love you had,
Don't be fooled by the tricks of love,
Because love is anything but bad.

GRADUATION (FRIENDS FOREVER)

Friends Forever
Till the end.
Helping each other get back up
Once again.
Friends forever
I wish you were here,
I'm holding in my frown,
And straining back my tears.
Friends forever
I'm calling your name
It really is a shame.
You're on a whole other level,
Playing a whole other game.
Friends forever
It's okay to cry.
Your feelings are hurt,
And so are mine.
Friends forever
We're growing up
In a way I feel happy,
In a way I want to die.
Friends forever
I'm needing joy.
This is a special day,
But I feel bad in so many ways.
Friends forever
You're someone I need
You're my shoulder to lean on,
You're my air to breathe.
Friends forever
I need your funny jokes
Cracking me up like buttery popcorn
And fizzy coke.
Friends forever
Memories are beginning to unfold.
I'm feeling a little better,
But I'm not that bold.
Friends forever
We will always be
Let's keep in touch,
And continue being
The little angels
That we will always be.
