DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI the Bristol alternative-indie, art-pop duo announce the release of their new single, 'Suki' set for release via Melody Mover on Friday 10th April 2026.
DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI are an indie-pop, art-rock duo with strong alternative influences. Based around the sibling duo of Natassa and Danny their music blends smart pop hooks, dance floor beats, strident guitars with a heavy dose of post Britpop sass 'n' wit. 'Suki' is their first release of 2026 and the first towards their debut EP set for summer release.
DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI is the chosen name for the new project of Natassa Zoë originally from Bristol but until recently based in Australia. A seasoned session musician with HAYLEY MARY (THE JEZABELS) and GRAACE, Natassa has shared stages with artists such as KEITH URBAN, LIAM GALLAGHER, DMA's and HOLY HOLY. As a filmmaker, Natassa created and starred in award-nominated music videos and short films, including Higher Places, Children of the Hour, and Harder to Breathe, with selections at Cannes, Berlin, New York, Toronto, and London festivals. She also co-created and starred in Cheap Choice, winner of the London Independent Film Awards and placed on high rotation on MTV.
Brother Danny Pugh is the songwriter, lead singer and producer for Bristol and the West's SIG SALI, his debut EP Chaos In My Mind (2025) followed acclaimed Glastonbury and Isle Of Wight performances and collaboration with songwriter Freddie Cowan of THE VACCINES.
Of the new single singer and writer Natassa says, "'Suki' is about embracing the light and dark in yourself and finding love that holds through the chaos."
Of their enigmatic band name Natassa expands, "The name nods to Desperately Seeking Susan and mirrors how the project began - my brother and I sending ideas back and forth between the UK and Australia. 'Suki' also relates to love, and the idea of searching for love in some form felt like something most people could relate to."
DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI are Natassa Zoë and Danny Pugh. 'Suki' was recorded and produced by Konstantin Kersting at 4000 Studios, Brisbane, Australia. The vocals were recorded by Danny in Bristol. 'Suki' was mixed by Konstantin Kersting and mastered by Mike Marsh at The Exchange, Devon.
