Stay On Trend: Schwarzkopf 2013 Looks

Schwarzkopf has announced the key hair looks of 2013, predicting the four key trends that will be prominent this year.

Hairdos are officially back in style. The elegant coiffed looks that Schwarzkopf predict will be setting the trends across Australia feature strong, bold, feminine and self-assured styles that reflect the diversity of the country's different cities. The looks are classy, supremely wearable and are as individual as the top models fashioning them.

The looks have been inspired by catwalks from around the world from Paris to Milan and New York to London, but it's not just top models who can get the look. What makes these looks so special is that they can be effortlessly recreated by any woman with the right tools and products.

The focus is on elegant, sophisticated look, which has been reinterpreted in a wonderfully modern and flattering way, the fine art of hairdressing is back in style.

Gloss Whether it's worn with a side parting, centre parting or asymmetrically this look embodies women with a undeniable radiance.
Grant Withnell, National Technical Educator at Schwarzkopf, says: 'We have already seen some stunning examples of this classic look on the red carpet of the Oscars.
Dark hair colours ranging from warm shades of brown to dark brown or black gives the style strength and boldness, however we have also seen Amanda Seyfield capture the classic look with hger gorgeous blonde tresses."

Big Bob
'There has been some ultra-chic bobs gracing the red carpet this season, with Naomi Watts stealing the show at the Golden Globes with her elegant faux bob. The Big Bob takes this classic style to the next level and gives a style that looks elegant and slightly retro in one context and modern and opulent in others," says Grant.

Fringer
'What makes this look so special is the wide fringe, which is cut straight and boxy. We have already seen lots of short fringes on the catwalks but an eye-brown length fringe is easier to wear and suits most women," says Grant.

Sleek Colour
'With this look there are no limits, multi-coloured highlights and streaks, expressive ombre looks, coloured roots or tips combine to produce an explosive interplay of colours," says Grant.

Styling Instructions for Gloss
1. Great hair starts with a great hair care regime. Wash hair with Schwarzkopf Marrakesh Oil and Coconut Shampoo ($6.99) and Conditioner ($6.99). Blow-dry it whilst pulling it over a round brush. Stop brow-drying when your hair is still slightly damp and apply Schwarzkopf Marrakesh Oil and Coconut Express Mousse Treatment ($8.99), which will leave your hair strong, smooth and more manageable.
2. Create the large waves by rolling your hair from chin level to the end on large curlers or over a large-diameter curling iron. Don't forget to apply a heat protection spray such as, Schwarzkopf Extra Care Straight and Glossy Heat Defence Zero Frizz Spray ($8.99).
3.Leave the curlers or the curling iron in your hair for a short while. Allow your hair to cool before you remove the curlers' or the curling iron, then pull your hair in to shape using your fingers. Finally, comb your hair and apply Schwarzkopf Curl Flex Shine Crème ($8.99) for that glossy finish.

Styling Instructions for Big Bob
1. Start by using Schwarzkopf Extra Care Push-Up Volume Shampoo ($6.99) and Conditioner ($6.99) to wash your hair. Apply Schwarzkopf Push-Up Volume Lotion ($7.99) after washing.
2. Schwarzkopf's Push-Up Volume Mousse Treatment ($8.99) should be applied to the roots, before blow-drying your hair until it is slightly damp while hanging your head upside down.
3. Apply Schwarzkopf Instant Volume Powder ($8.99) evenly onto roots before teasing the lower portion of the hair (the layer underneath the covering hair) using a comb. Single out a few strands, brush them against the grain and apply Schwarzkopf Push-Up Volume Powder ($8.99) to the underside.
4. Now release the tucked away covering hair and comb it in a smooth layer over the teased hair. Create a short middle parting if this is your style.
5. Gather your hair in a loose ponytail and secure it with a thin elastic. Now pull the elastic down close to the end of the ponytail. Guide the elastic towards your scale so that the (former) ponytail forms an inside loop. This loop creates the fake bob. Secure the elastic and the hair ends with visible bobby pins underneath the loop. Finish with Schwarzkopf Push-Up Volume Hairspray ($6.99).

Styling Instructions for Fringer
1. The style is easy; wash your hair with Schwarzkopf Straight and Glossy Shampoo ($6.99) and Conditioner ($6.99). After washing apply Schwarzkopf Extra Care Colour Shine and Protect Instant Repair ($7.99).
2. Apply Schwarzkopf's Heidi's Heat Style Mousse ($6.99) to the roots. Blow-dry the roots on a round brush to give volume and straighten the lengths with tongs. Don't forget to apply Schwarzkopf TAFT Full on Female Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray ($6.99) before straightening.
3. Use Schwarzkopf Strong Styling Hairspray ($6.99) to keep a bold and defined fringe.
4. The make-up shifts the focus to the eyes; dark gothic eye make-up, natural eyebrows and rude lips gives the look a mystic touch.

1. Sleek Colour can be achieved by using Schwarzkopf Brilliance Intense Permanent Colour range ($14.99). From Violet Vision to Red Passion there are 18 on trend colours that guarantee to turn heads.
