The Game Expo

This weekend, The Game Expo returns on March 14-15, 2025 for its fourth annual event celebrating gaming culture! This year sees the event grow with 50% more floor space and tons of ways to participate and have fun across community events, competitions, and creativity. There's tournaments, freeplay, cosplay, artists, indie games, tabletop and more. Special guests.include the Marvel Rivals voice actors for Winter Soldier and Psylocke, and a major creator tournament. Plus, Japanese indie studio 17-bit will be previewing their new game AWAYSIS, and iconic video game composer Yuzo Koshiro will be showcasing his game EARTHION.

BONUS STAGE SPECIAL MUSIC EVENT - Friday March 13th

As a special pre-TGX event, the musical guests and members of Melbourne's chiptune scene will be performing live at BONUS STAGE! Enjoy the gaming sounds of cTrix, Jamatar, Ally Mobbs (17-Bit) and Yuzo Koshiro. 

● SPECIAL GUESTS:
○ Voice Actors Eliah MountJoy and Alpha Takahashi, voice actors for Winter Soldier and Psylocke of Marvel Rivals. 
○ Iconic Game Composer Yuzo Koshiro, also head of indie studio ANCIENT, will be spinning his 16-bit Megadrive inspired music and showing new game
EARTHION. Alongside, Alex Aniel, author of Resident Evil history "Itchy, Scratchy". 
○ Japan based studio 17-bit - Western creators who have carved out a studio in Japan, led by Jake Kazdal, who was artist on Segas' Space Channel 5. They will be showing their new game AWAYSIS. 
○ Top Aussie creators like Loserfruit, Pestily and Crayator clash in Marvel Rivals

● MORE Homegrown Games! Indie Video Games and Indie Board Games has continued to grow as creators love the highly engaged TGX fans taking time to try out all the games. We even have some debut titles. 

● COSPLAY SHOWCASE: The incredible Cosplay Cup returns to dazzle with high level competitive cosplay for a $5,000 Cash Prize. TGX this year is an international qualifier for Tournament of Champions 

● TableTop Zone Features the evey popular Board Game Library, Trading Card Game Demos, and a huge $16,500 prize pool in TCG tournaments 

● MAJOR TOURNAMENTS: The Competitive stages of TGX cater to esports pros and new challengers alike!
○ PC Tournaments with a $12,500 Prize Pool. Play Apex, Marvel Rivals, and get to grips with the incredible PC Case Gear PCs powered by AMD
○ Fighting Game Tournaments: Partnered with CouchWarriors, we have major tournaments for Street Fighter, Tekken, 2XKO and Smash Bros, with a raft of International guest pro players!

● STAMP QUEST - Everyone has a Stamp card on entry - visit as many zones and complete tasks for a spin of the Prize Wheel - thousands of items from cool souvenirs to free games, merch and tech!
