The Owl and Cat Theatre with Studio Welder

The Owl and Cat Theatre in partnership with Studio Welder has launched its new acting school. Melbourne actors will be celebrating as the school offers competitive pricing and world class teachers and opportunities. With a mantra for -doing' they include performing in a fringe show as part of their part time program, they also utilise local playwrights to create something original for their students.

The other arm of the school is an innovative idea, an acting -gym' with memberships from $19 a week actors no longer need 3 jobs to stay on top of their training. Some have likened this to the -UBER' of acting training in Melbourne. A new way of doing things where the people get what they need at a price they can afford.

'Dancers have gym style schools now so why not actors too? We have been getting ripped off for too long!" Says creator Gabrielle Savrone.

Created by actors for actors this exciting new company is also offering a scholarship to a NYC acting school at the end of the year. Their mentors hold impressive bios including VCA, NIDA and international training. With a focus on new and relevant work they are aiming to empower their students to find their own method rather than saying -this is how it has to be done'.

Checkout their website www.studiowelder.com.au and get yourself a membership or apply to audition for their part time program before Feb 1st.
