Get excited! On Friday 20 February, over 400 participants will make a splash at the Fitzroy Swimming Pool to raise funds, awareness and support for Australians living with multiple sclerosis (MS). The 2026 Fitzroy MS Mega Swim will see teams swim in relays for an incredible 24 hours straight, with people of all ages and abilities taking part.
The annual fundraising event aims to raise $150,000 – vital funds that benefit people living with MS through the MS Go for Gold Scholarships, Financial Assistance Programs and providing services to directly benefit people living with multiple sclerosis. MS Go for Gold Scholarships are awarded to people living with multiple sclerosis who wish to achieve a dream. Scholarships are awarded in the categories of Personal Expression, Education and Wellbeing.
"The MS Go for Gold Scholarship will allow me to pursue my passion in filmmaking without the physical limitations that have held me back; give me the ability I lost, take on projects with confidence, and tell my story to the world." - Suchitha Dinah Isaac, 2025 Scholarship winner.
The MS Mega Challenge event series is one of the fastest growing community events in Australia. Founded in 2001 by Paralympian Carol Cooke AM, the MS Mega Challenge has been a beloved annual event for over two decades. This year will be Fitzroy's 26th year running!
"By taking part in the MS Mega Swim, you will be making a tangible impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis. Not only will you be making a positive difference, but you will also experience a sense of accomplishment, and community spirit. Together, we can create a brighter future for those affected by multiple sclerosis" – John Blewonski, MS Plus CEO.
