MS Brissie to the Bay

MS Brissie to the Bay

MS Queensland is encouraging all Queenslanders to jump on their bikes and join the ride to fight MS by registering for the MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride, with its special $30 launch day pricing released on Friday 7 February 2020 to celebrate 30 years.

There'll be many reasons to celebrate this year as the iconic ride turns 30, with the key event featuring the once only 130km course.

MS Queensland Executive General Manager Fundraising Dan Lalor said, "After many years of support from dedicated cyclists and donors, we're excited to announce this is MS Brissie to the Bay's 30th year."

"So, to thank all our loyal supporters, we're offering a special 24-hour deal - with registrations available at $30, to celebrate 30 years, for 24 hours only on Friday 7 February."

More than 5,500 riders are expected to take part in the annual cycling event on Sunday 14 June, with hopes of raising $1.1 million to support MS Queensland in its mission to ensure no one living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has to face it alone.

Dan said there would be a number of ways to celebrate 30 years.

"We're excited to announce the new 130km course this year to mark our 30th anniversary. It is a big challenge - but it's a constant reminder of the challenges those living with MS and other neurological conditions face daily," Dan said.

Dan is encouraging the Brisbane community to join in Queensland's biggest bike ride for the year and take part in the journey to fight MS.

"Participating in this annual event raises much needed funds to give Queenslanders living with MS the chance to live their best life. It's a great opportunity for families to spend a day together enjoying the outdoors, while really doing something important to help people living with MS," Dan said.

"For many people living with MS and other neurological conditions, they can often need support, including access to neurological care and independent living solutions where they can be cared for. These services are supported by the funding and donations raised by MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride and make a significant difference in the lives of these Queenslanders."

Funds raised through the MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride directly support the essential services delivered by MS Queensland such as service coordination, physiotherapy and exercise therapy, psychology, nursing support, as well as contributing to MS research to look for better treatments and ultimately a cure for the disease.

The event takes place on Sunday 14 June, starting at Musgrave Park in South Brisbane, offering cyclists the option of a 10km, 25km, 50km, 100km or the once only 130km course to celebrate the MS Brissie to the Bay's 30th anniversary.
