Inspired by the passion of street vendors in Mexico, Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill has introduced its new, healthy, flavour-packed Street Tacos.
In Mexico, street tacos are considered the heart and soul of the country's varied cuisine, enjoyed by people from all walks of life. Last year, the Salsa's team travelled to Mexico looking for flavour inspiration for our own range of Street Tacos.
This range of small tacos is specially designed to be eaten as a snack or a light meal, and with health conscious customer in mind, Street Tacos are less than 837 kilojoules (200 calories) each. Salsa's Street Tacos delicious flavours – carnitas (slow cooked pork), chicken chipotle, habanrero steak and black bean and guacamole - are filled with flavour-packed ingredients like mango salsa, lime juice, coriander and salsa fresca. Prepared using simple, fresh ingredients, Salsa's is a healthy, casual dining experience with 38 stores around Australia. Salsa's menu is styled on cuisine found in Baja California, the northwest peninsula of Mexico that stretches from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas. The style of food is known as -fresh mex'. Our Australian interpretation combines the best of Mexican food with nutritious ingredients.
Carnitas: Delicious slow-cooked pork, served with pineapple and mango salsa, a squeeze of lime juice and coriander to garnish
Chicken Chipotle: Grilled chicken served with chipotle salsa, salsa fresca (chopped tomato, coriander and red onion) and guacamole
Habanero Steak: Grilled steak, served with black beans, habanero (hot chilli pepper) salsa topped with coriander and red cabbage
Black Bean and Guacamole: Black beans with broccoli and zucchini, served with chipotle salsa topped with guacamole (vegetarian option)

Review: As a huge Mexican cuisine and Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill fan I was very excited to try the new Street Tacos range and they did not disappointed. Packed with intensely delicious flavours the Street Tacos take you to Mexico and back without you having to leave your table.
The soft shell tacos themselves are light and tasty alone and then they're packed with fresh ingredients to create an indulgent Street Taco perfect for a snack or part of a meal.
The Carnitas Street Taco takes succulent shredding pork and serves it with an amazing pineapple and mango salsa that melts in your mouth. The Chicken Chipotle has mildly spicy chicken that the smooth guacamole cools whilst you eat. The Habanero Steak Street Taco was the spiciest of the four flavours due to the habanero salsa but also the most delicious soft steak combined with black beans. The appealing Black Bean and Guacamole was fresh and enjoyable especially with the added broccoli and zucchini.
The limited edition Chica Chia Burrito was amazingly fresh and seemed to become more delightful with each and every bite.
