Adventure and Leadership Await at Scouts Victoria's September School Holiday Programs
Scouts Victoria is inviting young adventurers across the state to turn their September school holidays into an unforgettable experience. Six action-packed School Holiday Programs will run in Altona, Camberwell, Caulfield, Geelong, Brighton, and Lilydale, each offering youth the chance to discover the adventure, leadership, and community spirit that make Scouting so unique.

These programs give young people a true taste of what it means to be a Scout, from learning leadership skills at an early age to being part of a welcoming community where they can grow, explore, and thrive. Adventure is at the heart of Scouting, opening the door to countless experiences, from bushwalking to canoeing, abseiling to skiing. Through these opportunities, youth can find their passion, develop practical skills, and have fun along the way.

Led by trained Leaders, the holiday programs combine incursions, excursions, and hands-on activities that build confidence, resilience, and friendships. Designed for ages 5 - 14, each program offers a safe, inclusive, and screen-free environment where participants can try new activities, challenge themselves, and create lifelong memories.

"As the world's largest youth organisation, Scouting supports over 57 million young people in more than 170 countries, including tens of thousands here in Victoria," said Rod Byrnes, Chief Commissioner, Scouts Victoria. "Our School Holiday Programs are the perfect introduction to the values and experiences of Scouting leadership, community, fun and adventure."

Scouting also complements school education by supporting social, emotional, and personal development in a hands-on environment. A national study by Resilient Youth Australia found that Scouts report:

  • 5% higher life satisfaction
  • 13% better mental wellbeing and 11.6% stronger physical health
  • 15.4% more likely to feel they positively contribute to their community

These benefits grow even stronger the longer young people stay involved.
