The Lucky One

Is there really such a thing as a good luck charm? Ex-soldier Logan Thibault thinks he just might have found one.

Haunted by memories of the friends he lost in Iraq, Logan knows how fortunate he is to be home. He believes that a photograph he carried with him, a picture of a smiling woman he's never met, kept him safe. Even though he knows nothing about this woman, he hopes she might hold the key to his destiny.

Resolving to find her, Logan embarks on a journey of startling discovery. Beth, the woman whose picture he holds, is struggling with problems of her own: her volatile ex-husband won't accept their relationship is over and threatens anyone who gets too close to her. And, despite a growing attraction between them, Logan has kept one explosive secret from Beth: how he came across her photograph in the first place...

With well over fifty million copies of his books in print, Nicholas Sparks is one of the world's most beloved storytellers. His novels include nine No. 1 New York Times bestsellers. All Nicholas Sparks' books have been international bestsellers and have been translated into more than forty languages. Six of his novels have been adapted into major films: The Last Song, Dear John, Nights in Rodanthe, Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember and The Notebook.

Verdict: Based on the book by Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One tells the story of Logan Thibault, a soldier who believes his life was saved (more than once) whilst on the battlefields in Iraq by a photograph with the words 'be safe' written on the back. Once he finishes his third tour of Iraq, Logan heads home with the goal of finding the girl in the photograph...

Whilst Logan readjusts to life, he takes on a job at the girl in the photographs' family-run kennel and the audience is taken on an emotional rollercoaster of complex themes surrounding relationships, passion, family, loss and unresolved issues.

In traditional Nicholas Sparks' style the romance film features a water kissing scene, sunsets, disaster and of course love.

ZacEfron showcases his ability and confidence in the role of LoganThibault; proving his capable of acting in all genres especially as a dramatic actor.

This is a film especially for the female demographic; grab a girlfriend and see The Lucky One, in cinemas April 19th.
