Thomas & Friends The Great Discovery Steams onto the Big Screen
EXCLUSIVELY IN HOYTS CINEMAS* ACROSS AUSTRALIA

All aboard! This November Thomas & Friends invite fans on a brand new journey with the cinematic release of his new feature length special Thomas and Friends: The Great Discovery.

On Saturday November 8th at 9am, selected Hoyts cinemas across Australia will open their doors to parents and children to showcase a morning devoted to Thomas and all his very useful engine friends including Gordon, Percy and for the first time, Thomas introduces a new character, Stanley.

As well as meeting Stanley, parents and children will be able to hear new narrator Pierce Brosnan, who joins a long list of esteemed voices including former Beatle Ringo Starr and Alec Baldwin.

Thomas & Friends was first broadcast in 1984, and since then, the brand has come a long way from the improvised stories and sketches that Rev Awdry created to keep his son entertained when bedridden with measles. In Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery, fans will discover all new locations and embark on exciting adventures including a scrape with a very stinky cheese!.

The weekend screenings will launch with a Blue Carpet premiere in Sydney at the Entertainment Quarter on November 2nd and in Melbourne at Chadstone on November 8th. Both premieres will begin at 10am. Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery will be featured weekends in selected Hoyts from the 8th of November in NSW, WA, SA and QLD and 9th November in VIC.

Hoyts Big Screen Events will be showcasing the cinematic release on a combination of its 2K and 1.3k digital projectors, in 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound all for the very low price of $4.99 (adults & kids).

See The Great Discovery in cinemas before its DVD release by ABC DVD on November 6th.

* The Great Discovery will be playing in selected AMC cinemas in Queensland.
