Australia's largest and fastest growing holistic lifestyle hub, About Life, will open its first Melbourne store on Bay Street, Port Melbourne in late April.
 
About Life is a one-stop shop for natural groceries, an inspired wholefoods café as well as a ready-to-eat nature's servery. There is even an in-store wellness expert and concierge, all under one ethical, sustainable roof - rain, kale or shine!
 
An annual 15% growth in the natural and organic industry since 2009 (Australian Organic Market Report 2014) proves Australia's growing appetite for wellness. In 2016, About Life celebrates its 20^th anniversary, advocating that wellness is not a trend but a lifestyle choice.
 
Born in 1996 as a juice bar and cafe in Rozelle, sisters Jodie Stewart and Tammie Phillips have grown their independently owned and operated business from the ground up. With six stores in Sydney and their first Melbourne store opening soon, About Life is one to watch.

Packaged health foods grew by 8.2% in Australia in 2014, more than double the rate of growth in the broader food and grocery market (Nielsen Homescan). The About Life wholefood supermarket offers Australia's most extensive range of natural and organic groceries including fresh produce, meat, dairy, deli, bakery, pantry staples and green household goods. They also offer an extensive health and beauty range with everything from eco-friendly versions of everyday items like toothpaste, soap, moisturisers, shampoo and sunscreen to About Life's own Cacao and Coconut Body Butter and Detoxifying Clay Face and Body Mask.
 
About Life also offers healthy, tasty and clean food for kids and babies and eco-friendly products including nappies. The household section offers products that are free of parabens, artificial or synthetic colours, fragrances, preservatives, and free of petroleum based products.
 
Fresh produce boasts clean, chemical free practices, with many of the fruit and vegetables sourced and grown by local Victorian suppliers. Free-range, grass-fed and organic meats are sourced from sustainable farms along the eastern seaboard. About Life's very own Private Label range offers premium products without the price tag, with raw desserts, raw dips, salads, organic milk and ready-made meals only some of what is on offer.

"The 'new healthy' is a journey of discovery - it is about having a broad perspective of diet; whole foods, clean eating, and locally produced food," says accredited nutritionist, cookbook author and About Life COO Vladia Cobrdova.
 
"While we consider wellness innovations from superfoods to raw, our core focus is on sustainable, ethical, locally sourced produce and a balanced diet.
 
"It is not only what we put inside our body that counts, but also what we put on our body in terms of skin and body care. We are always working to provide the best range of holistic lifestyle necessities," says Vladia.
 
The About Life Café is dedicated to the most inventive dishes made from clean, nutrient dense ingredients. Providing customers with premium roasted, organic and fair-trade coffee, therapeutic herbal teas, ginger turmeric and matcha lattes, a variety of raw smoothies and juices, and a large array of hearty superfood meals and salads to satisfy and nourish the body.
 
The Nature's Servery self-serve food bar boasts hot and cold meals on high rotation to eat-in or take-away designed by the head chef and in house nutritionist. The menu changes seasonally with a selection of wholefood salads including the signature Raw Lasagna, Raw Zucchini Noodles with kale pesto and Cauliflower Tabbouleh, and nourishing hot foods from Turmeric Mustard Pork and Kale Pasta to Scrambled Pumpkin Tofu and Beetroot Quinoa Risotto.
 
The Port Melbourne grand opening weekend will be held from Saturday 30 April – Sunday 1 May with live supplier demonstrations, samplings and tastings, a garden patch where the kids can plant their own seeds and take them home to watch them grow, a Bike 'n' Blend juice station and more.
 
About Life is located at 120 Bay Street Port Melbourne, opening 7am – 8pm every day (café 7am-3pm) and Public Holidays from 8am – 5pm. About Life Port Melbourne will join existing Sydney stores in Bondi Junction, Cammeray, Double Bay, Lane Cove, Rozelle and Surry Hills.
