Synopsis: After a little white lie about losing her virginity gets out, a clean-cut high school girl Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone - Superbad, Zombieland) sees her life paralleling Hester Prynne's in 'The Scarlet Letter,' which she is currently studying in school - until she decides to use the rumour mill to advance her social and financial standing.

Verdict: Easy A is a drama comedy about a high school girl who manipulates gossip and rumors for personal gain. Loosely based on The Scarlet Letter, which explains the 'A', Easy A is without a doubt the best teenager comedy that has hit cinemas since 10 Things I Hate About You. Not only does the film deal with streamline teenage issues of rumours, bullying, loneliness and friendship, it's hilarious!

I thoroughly enjoyed the clever literature and classic 80's movie references weaved throughout Olive's sarcastic dialogue. Emma Stone is clearly the standout actress in the film; she is compelling in her role as Olive Penderghast and is able to deliver her witty lines perfectly.

Don't be deceived by the poster and storyline, Easy A isn't a 'chick flick' it's a vibrant and intelligent film, that all audiences will enjoy.
