Hits of the '70s: Power Pop and West Coast Rock

After a sold-out performance at The Flying Saucer Club, six-piece band -Linda' beam into the Satellite Lounge for the first time this October.

This show has been packing out venues across Australia and is an absolute must see. Linda specialise in songs from the 1970's, the sounds of Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, ELO, The Cars, Wings, Tom Petty, Linda Ronstadt and more.

From Carly Simon's 'Nobody Does it Better' to Fleetwood Mac's 'Rhiannon' and ELO's 'Telephone Line', the audience is up and dancing from the first beat.

The band formed in Melbourne in the early 2000's taking their name from Paul McCartney's late wife. "We were all playing in different original bands at the time and gravitated towards each other through our mutual love of seventies soft-rock and power pop," bass player James Batchelor said. "Linda is an extension of our friendship and enduring passion for this music."

The incredibly versatile voice and funky moves of lead singer Catherine Green knit this group of exceptional musicians together.
Green is often coupled with soulful guitarist Nick Thomson on duets such as 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around', whilst keyboardist extraordinaire Paul Spurling chimes in to round out the vocal harmonies which hark back to the era where musical craftsmanship, fun and indeed funk collide. Cool, calm and collected bassist James Bachelor teams up with energetic drummer Simon McSweeney to create a dynamic rhythm section, and if that wasn't enough there's the outstanding, and oftentimes maniacal, guitar licks of David Kuc to finish off the Linda lineup.
