What's done cannot be undone.
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary of Shakespeare Under the Stars with this brand new production, The Australian Shakespeare Company brings audiences the Bard's greatest drama, in Victoria's greatest garden.
This Summer, join The Australian Shakespeare Company in the surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens as they unleash a visceral new production of Shakespeare's darkest tragedy. Positioned at the very heart of the action, close enough to feel a pulse, Melbourne is invited to bear silent witness to the unraveling doom of a couple who kill together, and die apart.
Performed in an outdoor setting like no other, earthy surrounds inspire this psychological thriller - enhancing Macbeth's supernatural tones and the continual seduction of the underworld. It's a potent tale of morality versus maximum power.
Bring a friend or the whole family, arrive early and get your spot on the grass, then enjoy a dusk stroll through the gorgeous Royal Botanic Gardens. Unpack a picnic or have gourmet food delivered to you on site as you settle in to watch the sunset... and then let the intrigue begin.
**The Australian Shakespeare Company offer Gold Class packages for this season. Relax in a low rise chair on a picnic rug under the stars and enjoy a pre-show beverage (wine or soft drink) while you read your souvenir programme. At the interval, Gold Class ticket holders also receive complimentary tea or coffee.
