Melbourne Star's Music Menagerie

Melbourne Star's Music Menagerie Comes To Life This Melbourne Music Week

The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel (MSOW) will be transformed into a rotating Music Menagerie lucky dip on Friday, November 23 as part of Melbourne Music Week (MMW). Ten of the Star's cabins will each play host to a different Melbourne act, and guests won't know which artists they will see until they board their flight.

The ten acts include experimental hip-hop artist DRMNGNOW, R'n'B vocalist Kye, and soul/jazz singer Kalala. Guests will enjoy a complimentary drink to take on board, two rotations with two surprise musical performances during the event as well as music and drinks in the Melbourne Star Departure Lounge pre and post flight.

"[MMW] is always looking to engage new places and spaces around the city. I've been curating events in Melbourne for the past couple of years, but this venue has been the most unique," says Dan aka MzRizk, the event's producer and curator. "Melbourne Star will treat guests to a striking city view, while taking in the music in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. In addition to the MMW artist, each cabin will host up to 15 guests".

The artist line-up includes: Tatafu - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; Amadou Suso - Kora Player; Kalala - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; Lamine Sonko - Singer/Dancer/Song Writer From Senegal (West Africa) Vocals & Percussion; DRMNGNOW - Song carrier, yorta yorta, sovereign , ancientness , dreaming now. Beats /words/groove/soul/smoke/eucalyptus/water flow/ancestor; Maya - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; Kye - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; Blasko - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; One Sixth & Luis - Mc & Percussion; and Soli - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals.

"I looked for artists with strong enough vocals to sing without mics, and could include acoustic instruments", says MzRizk. "Artists who I have experienced live, who I've gotten a buzz off. Artists on their way up."
