Rock Eisteddfod Challenge & Croc Festival Launch into a Rockin' Career in Events
Australia?s first Diploma in Event Management which guarantees an industry internship with world-famous Rock Eisteddfod Challenge and Croc Festival events has been launched this week by William Blue.

William Blue School of Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure Management has joined forces with the Global Rock Challenge Academy (GRCA) to create this exclusive course.

Starting in February 2007, the one year full-time course will include a two-week, on-location, hands-on internship with Australia?s pinnacle youth spectacular event.

"For those who love a challenge and may be considering a career in events, the opportunity to work with leading industry practitioners in the landmark youth events, Rock Eisteddfod Challenge and Croc Festival, is an invaluable experience to carry into your career," says Dr Andrew Gonczi, William Blue head of school.

"William Blue?s Diploma in Event Management students will learn how to apply their studies in event planning, operations management, logistics, budget planning, IT and promotion, to events in which some 70,000 students from over 900 schools participate."

"Using their comprehensive learning in a real-life, public event will ensure they have a vital balance of practical and theoretical knowledge and experience when launching their career," Gonczi says.

GRCA?s Rock Eisteddfod Challenge and Croc Festival supervising producer, Paul Enright, who has over 19 years of experience in theatre, concert and special events, says working in a fast-paced environment provides students with essential skills that can only be learnt on the job.

"This internship offers students the chance to gain essential experience that can be applied to a range of events, from large-scale theatrical performances to intimate gallery exhibition openings," says Enright.

"The excitement, energy and expectation of the crowd and performers are sky-high at every event. The fast-paced intensity of the program leaves room only for those who are passionate about creating a fantastic event."

"Whether you had the chance to be a part of Rock Eisteddfod Challenge and Croc Festival as a student performer or this is your first opportunity to be involved with this now world-famous event, the euphoric, infectious energy and of the event is sure to capture you," says Enright.

William Blue is now inviting students to apply for its 2007 intake into Diploma in Event Management. The course has articulation into William Blue?s Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality) awarded by La Trobe University.
