UNLESS you've been living in Outer Mongolia you'll have heard of Hollywood's hottest new commodity, Kate Hudson. She's vivacious and bubbly and she's toppling reigning "It girl" Gwyneth Paltrow from her throne.
That Kate should be both gorgeous and talented is hardy surprising, she's blue blood Tinsel Town royalty - veteran actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are her Mother and Stepfather. Kate has been pursuing an acting career since the age of 16. Don't assume for a moment though her famous parents and privileged upbringing has made her climb to the top any easier.
Since her scene stealing major film debut in the comedy 200 Cigarettes, alongside Courtney Love and Christina Ricci, great interest has been generated in her work.
The budding starlet also appeared in Gossip alongside Dawson's Creek hunk, Joshua Jackson, however it was her portrayal of groupie Penny Lane, in the 70's rock film Almost Famous that has made Hollywood sit up and take notice. Kate won the Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe award for her performance and has also been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
She may be the epitome of the blonde blue eyed California Girl, but this Hollywood darling's appeal is more than skin deep - she exudes a wisdom and maturity far beyond her years which translates to the screen. On 31st December 2000, she married the lead singer from the Black Crowes, Chris Robinson, 12 years her senior, in an intimate 19th Century themed ceremony in Aspen, Colorado.
It seems Kate has everything and no one is more blown away by Kate's runaway success than Kate herself, and when asked about her reaction to hearing she'd been nominated for the Golden Globe she said
So how does she ensure none of her new found fame goes to her head?
