GENERAL OVERVIEW - GLAM IS IN!
Glamour makeup has returned! It's 80's again and the style setters of the world are redefining this look.
The strong and heavy eyes and the big overdone hair have been adapted to suit the woman of the year "noughties".
Colours are deep forest greens, plush earthy shades and glittering golds.
A Polished look is the way to go using metallic colours. Dramatic eyes will give attention to eyes and to lips.

CURLY CURLS
For those of you who have been blessed (or cursed as some of you may feel) it is time to rejoice! Curls are in! After seasons of slick straight hair, ringlets, spirals and waves are back (although so is that "80's" look - so don't over do it!)
To stop your curls from frizzing, flopping and generally going out of control - we give you some hints on how to manage them!
GET A QUALITY HAIRCUT
A good haircut can be the difference between WOW and What Now?!?! If their not cut right curls can weigh hair down and leave tight curls underneath and limp locks on top!
KEEP YOUR HAIR MOIST
Often curly hair is dry by nature, so make sure you give it an intense shampoo and condition with a quality shampoo and conditioner. Also try a deep condition that you leave in for a while before washing out. This can do wonders.
BE VERY GENTLE
Be very gentle when drying curly hair. Too much friction from drying with the dryer, brushing or styling with a curling wand or hot rollers can really damage hair. When you have finished shampooing, run a wide toothed comb through your hair, then wrap your hair up in a towel - not too tight- to dry off excess water. Then get a good product that helps hair retain moisture (ask your hairdresser for their recommendations) rub the product in your hands and then massage into hair. Always start at the ends rather than the roots. This will stop your roots getting too oily.
FRIZZ FREE FINISH
Use any styling aid that says it is frizz free and make sure you always stock up on it. Not only will most of these products add shine and gloss to your curls but will also keep your curls in tip top shape - no more frizzies!
Heading into winter can often mean for many women, of all ages, that it's time to change their makeup colour and style. Often in the warmer months we tend to use a less oily foundation as well as less makeup in general. Now we are facing the winter, it is important not to look like you're wearing a whole makeup department. You need to find the right coloured foundation for your skin for the winter and also one with the right level of oiliness.
SKIN TONE
To check your skin tone look at the underside of your wrist. or forearm in natural day light.
* If it is peachy, richly golden or yellowish, then you have WARM skin
* If it is blue, cream or pinkish/rosy, then you have COOL skin.
Choose a foundation to suit you.
* Oily skin needs a matte foundation which gives a shine free finish. Try buying and "oil-free' makeup.
* Normal skin can get away with most foundations Dewy finish or matte can suit -it comes down to personal preference.
* Dry or mature skin tends to look and feel better with a more moisturising dewy finish foundation. Choose a cream or moisturising product.
When applying your foundation, always make sure your skin is clean and dried correctly. If your face still has water or cleanser/toner on it, it can make you end up with streaky makeup. Ensure you blend your foundation correctly - check the chin line and around the neck to make sure there are no obvious lines. The right foundation should give a smooth finish and hide tiny imperfections. Don't try to cover things such as pimples, scars or blotches with extra foundation - this will end up looking dreadful! Use a concealer instead.
FLUSHED CHEEKS
Flushed cheeks are in! But remember - not too much - not too heavy! Less is more. Get yourself a nice pink or dusky-rose pink that will make you look happy and healthy.
BLOOD RED LIPS
Red lips are in - "I vont to suck your blood" (ok sorry that was my pathetic dracula impersonation) Anyway - yes red lips are in and it's strong reds like deep berries and Blood red. Strong coloured lips requires flawless lips - so make sure you get a good lip balm to go underneath. If you 're not into these strong colours then NUDE and very subtle pinks are ok too! These sorts of colours suit most every gal, so grab yourself one of these - I like Christian Dior's Tender beige or The Body Shop lipliner - Beech. Spread it all over after you have applied your lip balm and then add a little gloss on top.
