MADDAM launched after a French couple on the sunshine coast, Phillipe and Isabelle, were running an online business in the travel industry, but with the pandemic decided to start something completely different.
When they arrived in Australia from Paris, 11 years ago, they travelled around the country for 18 months in an old School bus. Then lived and worked in Sydney for five years and finally moved to the sunshine coast five years ago.
During this time, Isabelle started to use a phone necklace and found it helpful (especially after the birth of their twin girls), so they thought it could be worth launching in Australia.
After about eight months, they also launched a range of phone charms. The couple makes them themselves by hand and by order. So they can customise them, adding customers' names or change some beads if requested.
