Fabian Andres Interview

X Factor heart-throb Fabian Andres departed from the high rating show, leaving a trail of heartbroken teenagers in his wake…

But this favourite isn't heading home to lick his wounds; instead the 17 year old has signed with independent music management label Oxygen Music Group and is busy working on his first album.

-I still feel like I am dreaming' comments Fabian -the last few months have been such an amazing ride. I know that sounds clichéd but one minute I am a normal high school kid, the next minute I am serenading Danni Minogue and getting messages from people all over the world! It's scary but humbling.'

-Fabian is one of those artists that rarely come along and ticks all the boxes' comments manager Rico Soto -I would define artist's like Fabian as a Quadruple Threat and sometimes the short snippets in the TV show doesn't really make justice to his ability as a performer'.

Since leaving X Factor, Fabian has been in the studio recording his yet to be titled debut album with a sound best described as Michael Buble meets One Direction.

-The music is a little risqué with a high quality pop sounds' continues Rico -we can't wait for his fans to hear it'.

-I am working with such an amazing team of musicians and producers' comments Fabian -I have to pinch myself sometimes when I look around and see how lucky I am to be in the studio, and following my dream'.

Every good debut single needs a great video to go along with it and Fabian insisted that his first one include his new found fans.

-The reason I am here is because of the fans supporting me, and I wanted to be able to find a way to try and thank them'.
-I am so excited with the future and can't wait to release this single soon!'

Interview with Fabian Andres

Question: What did you learn from X Factor?

Fabian Andres: Being on the XFactor taught me two things:
One is believing in myself. You see so many talented people audition and not go through that it makes you question yourself and your abilities. But you need to keep going, believe in yourself, and build that confidence… #NeverEverGiveUp. I live by that motto every day.
Another thing I learnt is that your dreams are what you make of them. They shouldn't be left to a TV show or a contest, or even to what other people say about you. When I left the XFactor I realised that. It wasn't over; it was just the beginning, and look at what's happened! I'm making a record, working my butt off, performing… I am very grateful about the whole experience. But the real learning began afterwards.

Question: How did it feel to be signed with Oxygen Music Group?

Fabian Andres: Signing my management with Oxygen was like a massive weight fell off my shoulders, I've spent so long looking for a place that accepted the artist that I want to be, and these guys were right there offering me a deal. With that being said these guys push me hard and put a lot of weight back on me, simply because they have been successful artists themselves and understand the amount of time, effort and hard work you need to put into a music career.

It's not as easy and glamorous as the TV shows make it out to be, At least in the beginning, it's hard work! It's like going to the gym, it's hard work but when you see the results, you love every single second of it.

Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?

Fabian Andres: Next for me …we've just finished off my debut EP, five original songs, and preparing to tour and promote it!

I can honestly not wait! We are preparing an incredible show; we've put an incredible band together, dancers and choreography… I can't give too much away but it's going to be worth the wait!

The guys and I are looking at some touring throughout December and over Christmas and will be kicking it off by launching my first single 'Blame it on the radio" in October with a secret show!

Even I don't know where it is, but we are giving away tickets to Facebook fans so they can come and be part of my journey. My career won't be anything without them, so I'm keen to give back from day one. The song will be released on October 4th officially. The acoustic version 'sneak peek" is already up on my Facebook page and the EP will be released in the early summer.

Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?

Fabian Andres: Yes, I do write my own songs. Well 'co-write" with some fantastic musicians and producers. Things that inspire me to write are actual events from my life or things that means something to me. So pretty much, every song that I write is dedicated to someone or something.

Question: What can you tell us about the album you're working on?
Fabian Andres: It's meant to be a surprise but what I can tell you is that it's got a summer anthem kinda feel.

It's a new sound and it's going to show Australia and the world one side of me. 'You'll understand what I mean by -one side of me' in the near future"… But yeah, it's definitely happy and fresh.

Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?

Fabian Andres: Generally I listen to a lot of pop and R'n'B as a singer it just gets me going. Jazz, Spanish music and a bit of Country are also on the playlist, I love a bit of Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake and my number one has always been Michael Jackson.

Everyday, I at least listen to one of his songs.

Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?

Fabian Andres: Yes there was. It was in 2011, when I was 14 years old. I auditioned for XFactor and I got told NO and that I couldn't sing. Being at such a young age, I really didn't know how to deal with it and I thought it was the end of the world, but my parents are amazing and told me not to worry about it and that I'm young and it's only the beginning.

So I took in the advice I got from them and that was the day I introduced the motto 'Never Ever Give Up".

Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Fabian Andres: I can't really choose which one I prefer. Being on a stage and performing live is such an amazing feeling… it's like you're totally free and it gives me the chance to dance – which is my other passion! On the other hand, recording is a totally different feeling, you're closed in a room with people riding you about the way you pronounce every single word…but at the end of the day you can walk away with a copy on your phone and listen back and say 'wow – that's really me".

Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Fabian Andres: This story goes back to when I was around three years old. Stemming from my parents Latin background, Spanish music has been a very big part of my life.

My parents loved to listen to Ricky Martin and from there I picked up music quite quickly. Mum and dad realised that I loved it, so they took me down to our local club and almost every Sunday for the next year, I performed Ricky Martin tribute shows, under the name -Ricky Martin JR'.

Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?

Fabian Andres: My biggest challenge would have been going through the whole XFactor Experience. I would have to say it was hard Australia has so much incredible talent.

And also made me realise the music industry is not easy to get into. The first day I walked into that room on day one of boot camp, I actually was so scared that I started doubting myself. But I stayed strong and I did what I knew how to do best and that was sing and perform. That experience is definitely one that I do not regret.

Question: What's a typical day like?

Fabian Andres: A typical day consists of me waking up early, working out, get ready, have breakfast, 2-hour public transport trip to the studio, working on music all day till about 6-7pm (lunch in between), 2-hour public transport trip back home, have dinner and bed. My life is really busy and it flies by so fast, but I hope it gets even busier because that will prove to myself and the people around me that I deserve to succeed.

Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?

Fabian Andres: My favourite part of becoming an artist so far is the music, the rhythms, beats and lyrics inspire me to do more and more , constantly creating new ideas and concepts , I live for this!

Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Fabian Andres: If I could collaborate with any artist; I would actually collaborate with more than one. I would try to do a very special, once in a lifetime song with at least four other young male artists in the world 'some sort of super boy band", Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone, Cody Simpson and Conor Maynard…...just a one off single.

Question: Are you single? What do you look for in a partner?

Fabian Andres: Yes, I'm single. I love a girl with personality I want a girl who is truly a beautiful person. Good looks are a bonus but that's definitely not what I look at first. I would always like to get to know a girl before I judge the person she is; funny that's actually what one of my songs on my record is about!

Question: Do you have a website fans can visit?

Fabian Andres: I do have a website that my fans can visit. It's www.fabianmusicofficial.com. The can also like my Facebook, www.facebook.com/fabianofficialmusic and follow me on twitter, www.twitter.com/_fabianofficial.

Question: What message would you like to say to your fans?

Fabian Andres: I would love to say to all my fans out there that I thank you all so much for all your support and I wouldn't be able to do any of this if I didn't have you're support.

Stay in contact, and I send you all my love.
