Family nightclub in Brisbane has in a relatively short space of time done what most venues take years to achieve...become a clubbing institution. The venue has been voted nightclub of the year twice by Bartender Magazine and is renowned around the world as one of the best dance music venues around.
International DJs such as: Deep Dish, Erick Morillo, Martin Solveig, Tom Novy, Axwell, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha, John Digweed and many more have graced the decks over the years.
Family thought it time to "share the love" with the punters once again and put together a 2 CD set of tunes that have rocked the clubs main room dancefloor on Saturday nights over the past few months and the future anthems, including tracks from: Syke 'n' Sugarstarr, Axwell, Freeform Five, Roger Sanchez, Silosonic, Tom Novy, The Egg and Freemasons..
International DJ/producers Syke 'n' Sugarstarr (famous for the massive 'Ticket 2 Ride') have been drafted to put together CD1 and they will be launching the CD on their national tour starting at: Family on March 10th.CD2 has been selected and mixed by Saturday night resident DJ and club promoter Chris Wilson.
Chris Wilson has been a permanent fixture in the Brisbane house music scene for over a decade, providing even the most discerning clubbers with a selection of house music from your classic track through to your future anthem. As a DJ Chris has played alongside numerous international acts including: Roger Sanchez, Armand Van Helden, Tom Novy and Axwell just to name a few. Not only recognised for his experience behind the turntables, Chris has been the Promoter of Saturdays @ Family since its inception and has been responsible for evolving the night to it's high level of success.

Syke'n'Sugarstarr aka Matthias Weber and Serhat Sakin are something of an enigma. Working together in the house music biz since the late nineties as producers and DJs, they have been responsible for some absolutely enormous club tracks over the last six years. Producing their own tracks is just one part of their operation, however. A list of production and remix credits which includes such renowned artists as: Mousse T, The Disco Boys, Incognito, Armand van Helden, Gadjo and Hardsoul is testimony to their skills in the studio. This is further highlighted by the breadth of record labels that Syke'n'Sugarstarr have worked with, ranging from Universal, one of the majors, at one end of the spectrum, right through to cutting edge dance labels like Swing City, Soulfuric, Subliminal, Southern Fried, Peppermint Jam, Kontor Records, Central Station Records, not forgetting the boys' own 'Do The Hip Recordings' imprint.
Late 2004 saw the release of their first longplayer, the aptly named 'Best Of Syke 'n' Sugarstarr'. A decidedly neat little compilation featuring their most prominent works to date. Amongst them, big tunes such as: "Ticket 2 Ride" and "Release Your Mind", which enjoyed worldwide release, further cementing the guys' reputation as premier producers.
2005 was an incredibly busy year, culminating in the setting up of Volume 2 in the series. This new 'Best Of' contains massively hyped tracks like SE:SA's 'In My Life' and 'For You' by The Disco Boys, along with highly sought after remixes for Porno's 'Music Power', DJ Dove's 'I Want It All' and last but not least, 'Listen To The Music' by Incognito.
In 2006 keep your eyes and ears open for the new single: "Are you (watching me, watching you)" featuring vocals by Alexandra Prince, who previously sang on Gadjo's hit "So many times". In conjunction with the worldwide release (thanks to license deals in a number of key territories), SnS will be heading off on a global tour beginning in March, which will take them to Australia, North and South America, Russia and back across Europe.
The final part of the jigsaw puzzle is the SnS label, "Do The Hip!" which Matthias and Serhat run themselves, linking together nicely with their "Do The Hip!" club nights which continue to go from strength to strength.
The most appealing aspect of Syke 'n' Sugarstarr is just how fresh they sound, both in their productions and their DJ'ing, which is just as diverse and experimental as their studio work. The best way to describe them would be as musical pioneers, which is exactly what the world needs right now.
