Steve and Tiny look after each other, so when Steven needs to get away for a while, Tiny goes too. Thr trusty old van becomes their new home as they drive across Australia, through wide red deserts, past glittering oceans.
Tiny is a natural at rounding up cattle, and brave enough to go up in a helicopter. But Tiny has a job to do. Steve needs new friends - friends to get him out from behind his camera, friends to make him smile again. And if there's one thing Tiny is good at, it's making friends!
This is a glorious photographic picture book about a red heeler on aroad trip to northern Australia - heart-warming tale about loyalty, adventure and a very special kind of love.
Jennifer Castles is a writer, editor and actor who lives in Brunswick in Melbourne. She doesn't have a dog right now, but her little kids are always 'borrowing' other people's dogs, so she's going to have to get one soon. She'd love to find a dog just like Tiny.
Steve OttonM lives on the Clarence River in northern NSW and divides his time between photography and making furniture from recycled timber. But his dogs like it best when he's walking with them on the beach. Steve grew up on the edge of Sydney, and it was when he travelled to the country with his parents that he fell in love with Australia's beauty and its vast open spaces. After purchasing a Kodak Instamatic in 1969, he developed an interest in photography that led to an interest in film. This, combined with a love for travel led Steve to have a twenty year career showing movies in coastal theatres and country town halls across Australia. Feeling that he needed a change, Steve took off with his red heeler Tiny on a trip to photograph Australia.
