As part of the global quest to find the Just Dance Electronic Sport World Champion, a national search resulted in six dancers hailing from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane battling for the Australian title at the recent EB Games Expo in Sydney. They had each already won a qualification dance off in their home state to be eligible for the Australian final, to have the chance to be one of 20 worldwide finalists to meet in Paris.
Brisbane local, 18-year-old Denzal Van Uitregt took out the prize based on the number of game points gained according to dance ability. The final went down to the wire, with both finalists being tied at two wins each going into the very final dance where Denzal took the title dancing to Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani.
As the national winner, Denzal will be flown to Paris to compete in the Just Dance Electronic Sports World Cup at Paris Games Week from October 30th to November 1st, 2014, along with $500 spending money and five nights accommodation. The event will come just a week after Just Dance releases their 2015 version of the game on 23rd October.
