Beauty Busters

Beauty Busters
Dried-up nail polish -These can be revived by stirring in a few drops of polish remover before using. You can help prevent it from thickening in the first place by storing it in the fridge, as the cold temperature will stem evaporation and stop it changing in texture.

Tidemarks of foundation - If you find obvious edges to your foundation on your chin, jawline or hairline, blend them away with a damp cosmetic sponge. Do this in natural daylight so you can check the finished effect. Powder as usual afterwards.

Droopy Eyes - To help lift the appearance of droopy eyes, sweep a light-toned eyeshadow all over your eyelid. Then apply a little eyeshadow with a clean cotton bud under your eyes, sweeping it slightly upwards. Apply extra coats of mascara on the lashes just above the iris of the eye to draw attention to the centre of your eye rather than the outer corners.

BLUSH AWAY!

Blusher is an instant way to give your looks a lift. It should be applied the way it was first intended to be used - to recreate a youthful flush.

POWDER BLUSHER - This should be applied over the top of your foundation and face powder. Start the colour on the fullest parts of your cheeks, directly below the centre of your eyes. Then smile and dust the blusher over your cheekbones and up towards your temples. Blending the colour well towards the hairline will avoid harsh edges and place colour where you would naturally blush.

CREAM BLUSHER - breaks all the traditional beauty rules, as it's best applied with your fingers. It's put on after foundation and before face powder. To apply, dab a few dots of cream blusher over your cheeks, from the plump part up towards your cheekbone. Using your fingertips, blend well. Build up the effect gradually, adding more blusher to create just the look you desire. Alternatively, you can also use a foundation wedge to blend in cream blusher.

BEAUTY TIP OF THE MONTH!

Sweep a little loose powder under your eyes when applying dark shades of eyeshadow to catch any falling specks and prevent them from staining your skin.
