MasterChef All Stars Winner Callum Hann Joins Thankyou to Create Life-Changing Food Range

Masterchef All Stars Winner Callum Hann has been appointed Chief Taste Officer (CTO) of Thankyou Food, one of two new product lines launched by Australian social enterprise Thankyou.

Thankyou has helped improve the lives of millions of people in need since launching its initial bottled water product Thankyou Water in 2008. In just over four years, the Australian social enterprise, which contributes an estimated one month's worth of safe drinking water per bottle sold in developing countries, has helped over 56,000 people via 100 projects in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Kenya, Myanmar, Haiti, India, Timor-Leste and Burundi.

With the launch of its two new product ranges, Thankyou Food and Thankyou Body Care, and a call-to-action yesterday for Coles and Woolworths to begin stocking its entire product range, Thankyou Managing Director and co-founder Daniel Flynn said he was now thrilled to announce the addition of CTO Callum Hann to the team.

'Callum has already played a massive part in creating our new food line, which currently consists of premium muesli, quick and rolled oats, oat clusters and muesli bars. We are obviously thrilled to announce that Callum has now officially joined the team in a role that will see him continue to develop and expand our great tasting and nutritional food products," Flynn said.

Chief Taste Officer Callum Hann says he loves his new role and is proud of the product line he's helped create, but says he is even more excited about the positive effect Thankyou Food™ will have in helping to address the global food crisis.

'Every purchase of a Thankyou Food product will provide at least one week's supply of food to a person in need," Hann said.

'Having grown up in the Barossa Valley and working with food every day, it's hard to imagine that there are millions of people in the world that don't have access to food on a daily basis. I've seen first-hand the devastating state of the food crisis in developing nations, and I'm really proud to be involved in creating a food range that aims to change that.

'We've worked with the experts in the food industry for 15 months to develop the Thankyou Food range and I'm confident it has the potential to be the best option on the shelves," Hann said.

Flynn said it was important to create a range that tasted great, was healthy and nutritious.

'We didn't want Thankyou Food products to be just another brand on the shelves. We wanted to create a range that was nutritionally great, and tasted fantastic.

'This is where Callum was a great fit. As a renowned cook, that not only has a knack for producing food that tastes great, but who also has a big focus on nutrition, we knew he would be the right fit," Flynn said.

'It's now up to the retailers to get on board. In particular, we'd love to see supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths begin stocking Thankyou products. It would make a huge difference and help us to make the lives of millions of people around the world better.

'Australians love to help others in need and if the two major supermarkets can make this possible by stocking a premium quality consumer product, I can't see how they could pass it up."

Hann's role in the creation of the Thankyou range continues his passion for making a difference through food. After winning Masterchef All Stars in 2010, Hann co-founded Adelaide cooking school Sprout, teaching people to cook healthy and nutritious meals.
