Josie & The Pussycats

Josie & The Pussycats
What a MOVIE GIRLS!

As I do, I went to see the Preview of "Josie and the Pussycats" for all the girl readers and have to say it is THE BEST (Yes THE BEST) movie I have seen this year.

Josie (Rachel Leigh Cook), Melody (Tara Reid), and Val (Rosario Dawson) are the Pussycats, a struggling band playing DODGY places like bowling alleys. Josie and the Girls have stars in there eyes, their dream is to become SUPERSTARS. In a strange twist of fate, their dream comes true when they are in the right place at the right time. A record producer (Alan Cumming) suddenly signs them up to become the newest sensation in the country to the label MEGA RECORDS. Although the Girls find it a little weird that he doesn't even listen to their music before they get signed, they go along for the ride, becoming the Princesses they have always wanted to be, with new clothes, presents and state of the art Music Equipment. Tension in the band starts to mound when Alan changes the name of the band to "Josie and the Pussycats", however they continue with the dream.

Soon they have a single released and the fans are going nuts!! However, they soon discover that their popularity is really to do with HIDDEN MESSAGES within the music, which MegaRecords executive Fiona (Parker Posey) has been using to control the way teenagers think, what they buy and who they like... JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS however provide Fiona with her KEY to achieve her ultimate plan.... And I am not telling you what that is!!

The movie really takes the PISS out of the 90's boy band mentality, parts of the music industry who try and sell you a product (such as the gooses that come up with Milli Vanilli, that fake band) and has a lot also to say about merchandising and fashion.

I loved Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rossario Dawsons performances, they were amazing... But don't just take my word for it!
