Australian app developer Halfbrick celebrated two years of Fruit Ninja on the App Store, marking its success as the single most successful game to ever come out of Australia, and one of the world's most recognisable brands in mobile gaming.

The anniversary culminated in Sydney, in May, where Australia's top 3 Fruit Ninja Masters and industry pundits converged on a live event to crown the national champion.

After training for countless hours and qualifying at the Melbourne event, 20 year old Jess Nunn was crowned Australia's Fruit Ninja Master and won a trip to Japan courtesy of Halfbrick for a real life ninja experience.

Along with the anniversary celebration, Halfbrick revealed some amazing statistics from the game. There are now 300 million Fruit Ninja players around the world, 50 billion combos have been sliced, and over 1.5 trillion pieces of fruit have been chopped! Earlier in 2012, Fruit Ninja was officially recognised as the second highest-selling App Store game of all time.

Phil Larsen, Chief Marketing Officer of Halfbrick, said the celebration was a great way to give back to the fans that helped make Fruit Ninja an overwhelming success.

"We've been growing steadily since 2001 and achieved worldwide recognition from Fruit Ninja in 2010. The national tour was a way for us to give back to the fans.

"The crew behind the games we make really enjoyed getting face time with the community at the live dojos in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, and the finale last night was a roaring success!

"We also unveiled our brand new characters Gutsu and Truffles, as well as some fun new power-ups.

"We have plenty more tricks up our sleeve at Halfbrick, including more updates for Fruit Ninja, the continued expansion of our latest blockbuster hit Jetpack Joyride, and new games to come in the future.

"We're showing the world how Aussie creativity can make a huge impact on games worldwide," Larsen said.

To celebrate the final and two years on the App Store, Halfbrick is currently giving away free download codes for Fruit Ninja at the official Anniversary Tour website: http://anniversary.fruitninja.com*Limited quantity available.
