Target Predicts Top Costumes for Halloween 2015

Star Wars' Darth Vader, Storm Trooper and Princess Leia are predicted to be amongst the top-selling hits for Halloween costumes this year, according to the General Merchandise team at Aussie retail icon Target.

Halloween classics are remaining firm favourites too, with pirates and vampires expected to be popular choices this year for both adults and kids. Family pets will have the chance to get into the spirit too, with costumes specifically designed for furry friends including the popular Batdog onesie.

Year on year, more Aussies are embracing Halloween, with a big increase in shopping for the occasion.

'Movie characters are always a Halloween favourite amongst Aussies every year.  Last year Elsa and Anna from Disney's smash-hit movie -Frozen' were the most popular costumes for girls, while boys stuck to the traditional zombie or skeleton", said Simon Cassie, Business Manager of Toys for Target.

Target Ambassador Kylie Brown is looking forward to scouring the affordable range of Halloween costumes and goodies for her three kids this year.

'The kids love getting dressed up for Halloween and we make it a really special time, where we go trick or treating with friends. My two girls were big fans of Elsa last year, but I think this year we might be going for the mermaid costume or Princess Leia," said Kylie Brown.

'One of the things I love most about Halloween is the lead up and shopping for lollies, props and other goodies, which we can get all under the one roof at Target," said Kylie.

Other costumes that will be on offer this year at Target include Batman, Supergirl, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, glow in the dark leggings and a range of cute and spooky baby onesies. Target also offers other Halloween must-haves including chocolate pumpkins filled with chocolate spiders, -body part' gummy lollies, swords, fake blood and a range of toys.

Halloween is a special time at Target, with team members invited to join in the festivities and don their own special costumes from the range, whilst helping customers pick from the same extensive and affordable range of props, costumes, lollies, toys and other Halloween themed goodies.

Target's range of Halloween costumes and treats for kids, adults and the entire family will be available online at www.target.com.au, and in approximately 300 stores across the country.
