Video Section 1 - Logical Patterns & Shapes
Red, black and white are colours that appeal to babies more than other colours in the first months of life. Shapes and patterns are shown utilizing these colours. Children are shown puzzles, built piece by piece and then shown the whole picture. This is entirely different from the Right Brain Video, which shows the whole picture and then piece by piece. This encourages analytical thinking through step-by-step procedures and details. Stacking shapes (opposite of nesting shapes which is right brain), angular space and other objects appeal to the sequential order preference of the left brain. "Brainy Baby" applies a variety of these objects throughout this section.

    Video Section 2 - Language
The left side of the brain is where language skills are learned. First, the video begins with letters of the alphabet which are repeated several times. This also encourages learning in sequential order. Simple words are spelled with corresponding pictures. This introduces spelling concepts and word association. Additional visuals are shown with a corresponding voice-over in English, Spanish and French. Exposing children to foreign languages at an early age broadens their ability to hear phonemes from other languages, enabling them to learn them easier.

    Video Section 3 - Math
Numbers 1-10 are introduced in sequence, forwards and backwards. The video then takes this left brain function of sequential order into basic counting with interactive questions like "How many do you see?" Using numerical reasoning, such as more or less, or plus or minus encourages detail. Simple addition and subtraction are also introduced in this section, encouraging problem solving. Other highlights of the Left Brain Video include baby faces and visually stimulating toys that are used throughout to give variety to the learning sections.

    Music Style
The Music in this video is of the Baroque and Classical eras. This style shows logic through sequence and counterpoint melodies. Research has shown that the brain is especially stimulated through the listening of Baroque music as it increases IQ, math skills and logic, which is commonly referred to as the "Mozart Effect".
