POWDERFINGER HIT ANOTHER HIGH NOTE!
What an amazing year for Powderfinger who end 2001 with yet another triumph.
Powderfinger's fourth studio album 'Odyssey Number Five' has called the ARIA album chart home for no less than15 months and has now hit another mile stone by reaching sales of over 7 x PLATINUM in Australia this week. The half a million sales mark is now clearly in sight for Christmas.
This year Powderfinger received 8 ARIA nominations and took home 4 or the prestigious gongs ('Album Of The Year', 'Best Group', 'Highest Selling Album', Best Rock Album', 'Record Of The Year', Best Cover Artwork – Kevin Wilkins).
They also played to over 100,000 people across the country on their sell out New Suburban Fables tour in October (sales of which have broken many venue house records). Other tour highlights for 2001 were Big Day Out, Lowlands, Splendour In The Grass and Fuji Festival in Japan.
Powderfinger are currently enjoying time off over Christmas before beginning to record the follow up to Odyssey Number Five early next year.
