females flaunt sexuality but dumb it down to get ahead at work
Nearly one third of Aussie workers say females play dumb to get ahead at work even though intelligence is greatly admired in the workplace according to a study conducted recruitment giant, Talent2. The survey which questioned more than 1,960 people also showed that females still use their sexuality to advance their careers.
Mr Craig Sneesby of Talent2 says it appears that batting one’s eyelashes, tears at torrid times and flaunting female wiles still helps women win in the workplace.
"Good looks and excellent presentation are excellent career boosters according to respondents with a massive 63.5% of both males and females saying if you got the looks, you will go further than if you don’t."
"When the question was asked as to what males use to get ahead, most respondents cited bullying as the favoured male technique although females were more likely to believe this was so than their male counterparts."
"Corporate life is exceptionally competitive and employees are using whatever it takes to get ahead. Early to work, late at work, weekends at work, bullying, sucking up to the boss or even telling porkies are amongst the basket of goodies used."
