Diva's News Flash - Grammy Nominations

With the annual Grammy Music Awards only a month away, nominations have been announced. Here are just some of the acts who are in the running to receive the music industry's most prestigious music award.

U2 have scooped the rock pool somewhat, receiving 8 nominations. The band will be in the running for Record of the Year for "Walk On", Album of the Year for All That You Can't Leave Behind, Song of the Year for "Stuck In a Moment" and Best Rock Album for All That You Can't Leave Behind and more! U2's current single "Walk On" – which was recently released in Australia - has become the fourth consecutive single from the album All That You Can't Leave Behind to debut in the Top 10 and the album has reached 5 x Platinum sales in Australia to date.

Nominated for 7 awards is the beautiful and soulful India Arie. India's first single "Video" is in the running for the awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Her new single "Brown Skin" will be released in an Oz only exclusive format on February 25th.

Recent Oz visitor Nelly Furtado has impressed the judges with her outstanding debut Whoa, Nelly! Nelly is up for awards in the Best New Artist and Song of the Year categories (for "I'm Like A Bird") and has also been nominated for Grammy's for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("I'm Like A Bird") and Best Pop Vocal Album (Whoa, Nelly!).

Man of the moment Ryan Adams gets in on the action with nominations for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance ("New York, New York"), Best Rock Album (Gold) and Best Male Country Vocal Performance ("Lovesick Blues" from Timeless: Hank Williams Tribute).
