KARINA PIRES
Karina Pires was born in Brazil. You could say she has a Brazilian heart with an Australian soul, or vice-versa.
Karina Pires graduated in Marketing and Advertising before studying Fashion Design at the renowned East Sydney Fashion Design Studio.
Karina Pires launched her label in 2006, when she was invited to take part of MAFW Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. Her playful and fresh style gained further recognition when she was selected as a Finalist of Mercedes Benz Start-Up NSW in the same year.
Karina Pires has a painterly eye for colour and textures, which are her focus in design. She also loves contrasts, so you might be surprised by unexpected mixes such as soft and organic or structural and minimalist.
Karina Pires loves the 'buzz' of the fashion world, and apart from designing she also find time to spread her wings as a stylist. Before starting her own label, she assisted recognized names of the Australian Fashion, such as Nicola Finetti and Alex Perry.
