Katy Perry Concert
Katy Perry Concert
Katy Perry opened her show at The Forum, in Melbourne on August 14th, with 'Fingerprints' ("I'm leaving my fingerprints…"). Perry looked stunning in a tiny glitter outfit with a diamonte studded microphone! The audience was in awe of her set before she even graced the stage; it was set up to mimic her album cover, 'One of the Boys', grass covered, with a picket fence, flamingos and blow-up strawberries!
Accompanying Katy Perry on stage was a four piece band, dressed head-to-toe in pink! Flash, jumping, Katy playing guitar, solo-songs and casual 'Melbourne-related' comments filled the sold-out, hour and a half performance.
During the performance one lucky 'ranga', as Katy called her, bright pink and red haired girl, was pulled onto the stage to dance alongside Katy whilst she sang, although Katy admitted she wasn't much of a dancer so the girl would have to get the crowd moving!
The action didn't stop during the one and only outfit change; Katy still spoke from backstage whilst the crowd was greeted by a huge cat, because it was the 'Hello Katy' tour!
Katy Perry moved through all the tracks on her album and even added in 'Don't Stop Me Now' a cover of the Queen classic and 'Please Mr Postman' to 'Build Me Up Buttercup'. Katy began the melody begging a postman for letters from her 'boyfriend'.
'Waking Up in Vegas' was introduced by Perry mentioning that her brother would be experiencing Vegas, this weekend, for his 21st birthday- but to not put anything on YouTube has her parents didn't know!
Of course, Katy's concert ended in 'I Kissed a Girl'- with her bouncing around with an inflatable "cherry ChapStick". By the end of the sassy song, and concert, she was so close to the edge of the stage she was practically in the audience!
Katy Perry has an album of catchy and edgy pop music that was showcased in her cheeky performance; she is definitely one glamorous yet flamboyant star- who can really perform!
