Kings of the Watercooler

Something new and exciting is coming to the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Kings of the Watercooler will be serving up a fresh perspective (plus a few extra bits) on the banal of the everyday office from 20 March - 13 April at the Carpet Room in the Forum Theatre.
Since the dawn of time creatures have gathered around the waterhole, the nexus of refreshment known for its exchange of information, stories, jokes and gossip. Now - the waterhole has evolved - from town well, to water pump, to water cooler. But have we as humans evolved, or are we still monkeys who happen to have discovered mobile phones and affordable footwear?
Young, dynamic and up and coming comedians Bart Freebairn and Matt Okine, guide audiences though the technologically bombarded world we live in now. They’ll throw some slightly off-beat humour into the brew as Kings of the Watercooler explores how our lives are being changed through the ever encroaching shiny shadow of technology. As we become more connected with the world around us do we run the risk of ending up alone with only internet scrabble as our companion?
Bart Freebairn and Matt Okine are two of Australia's bright young comedy stars. These previous Raw Comedy national finalists fill the show with geekdom, emotion and electricity as they explore some of the quirky twists our modern life has pulled on us.
As Kings of the Watercooler, Bart and Matt are here to be shown and known. Don’t miss out on them!
