Little Birdy have the number #1 selling Australian album in the country this week with the chart debut of their third creation - CONFETTI.

Public demand for the album meant a number of retailers actually started selling the album over the days prior to its official release date meaning those sales were 'lost' to this week's chart. Even so, CONFETTI still outsold all other local releases and debuted strongly at #6 on the national ARIA chart.

The band were in Bendigo about to take the stage at the final Groovin The Moo festival when they heard the news.

CONFETTI is the third consecutive album to reach the top end of the charts for this band who already have two acclaimed, gold-certified discs already under their wings.

The four Birdys chose to produce CONFETTI themselves. The result is a collection of classic-sounding tracks that sound like Dusty Springfield has been teleported from her Memphis heyday into modern-day Melbourne…and she's brought Burt Bacharach and Midlake along for the ride.

The band only has a handful of gigs left on their current Australian tour. With the majority of shows on this tour selling out in advance it's advisable to get in quickly for these remaining few shows.
