Dr Girl/Dr Dejour Q&A
Dr Dejour,
I am 17 and I have noticed just recently that my right boob is bigger than my left one. Is this normal or is there something wrong with me?
Signed Lopsided.
Dear Miss Lopsided,
I hope you havenıt given your left breast a complex by declaring it publicly to be smaller (only joking!). Yes it is normal to have breasts that differ slightly in size; in fact very few people are symmetrical with respect to any of their features. If you notice a lump, a change in the skin over the breast or puckering of the nipple or breast, this may be a different story and not normal. Itıs good that you know your breasts and self-examination is so very important as breast cancer can (very rarely) occur in young women like you. If in any doubt please see your GP.
Regards,
Dr Dejour
