Puppets come alive at The Rocks

Two of Australia’s top puppet companies bring FREE shows to The Rocks during February


This weekend and each weekend in February, kids and adults alike will be entertained by two of the country’s best puppet companies with free performances in The Rocks Square.

The internationally acclaimed Sydney Puppet Theatre and Murray Raine Puppets will delight audiences with three shows every Saturday and Sunday at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

On 9 and 10 February, the Sydney Puppet Theatre will present a variety of shows using shadow puppets, hand and rod puppets and exquisite marionettes. The fun, interactive shows combine amazing magic and captivating puppetry guaranteed to thrill an audience of all ages.

Puppeteer Murray Raine will bring his renowned Hey Diddle Circus show to The Rocks Square on 16, 17, 23 and 24 February. The production is one of the biggest of its kind involving more than 30 big, bold and bright characters including a group of mad rock-n-roll monkeys, trapeze koalas, acrobatic clowns and an overweight ballerina ostrich!

The Rock Square, located at the rear of The Rocks Centre on the corner of Argyle and Playfair Streets, is an open-air courtyard protected by an all-weather canopy and close to The Rocks Market, cafes and shops.
