The Body Shop Moringa Bath & Body Range

First used in Ayurvedic medicine some 4,000 years ago, moringa seed oil comes from the moringa tree, which is also known as the ‘miracle tree’ due to its wide variety of beneficial uses. The oil was highly treasured by the ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian civilizations for use in protecting skin and making perfume, and it was so good they even used it to create their own skin-smoothing product.

The Moringa tree provides 7 times the Vitamin C in oranges, 4 times the calcium in milk, 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, 2 times the protein in milk and 3 times the potassium in bananas. Moringa seed oil contains high levels of oleic acid, a fatty acid that helps to restore the skin’s moisture levels, protects against drying and keeps the skin feeling soft and smooth.

The secret to its superb conditioning qualities lies in moringa seed oil with oleic acid, and a rich cocktail of moisturising Community Trade ingredients including cocoa butter made from cocoa beans from Ghana, shea butter from Ghana, Brazil nut oil from Brazil, sesame oil from Nicaragua, and organic honey from Zambia. Together they expertly soften, smooth, moisturise and protect the skin.

Gentle Moringa Body Scrub (rrp $27.95) is an excellent exfoliating scrub that not only removes dead skin cells, but also invigorates the skin. Massage to help boost circulation and to leave skin feeling soft, smooth and ready to absorb moisture. The superb scrub benefits from moisturising ingredients like moringa seed oil and organic honey, brazil nut oil and sesame oil from our Community Trade suppliers, as well as exfoliating particles of moringa fruit and lotus seed powder, walnut and coconut shells and ground rice for a truly great clean.

Moringa Soap (rrp $4.50) is a creamy bar that lathers to leave your skin feeling clean, fresh and subtly scented with a delicate, floral fragrance. Key ingredients include moringa seed oil and Community Trade soya oil which are both rich in essential fatty acids that help to restore the skin’s moisture barrier.
