Like ships passing...?

Jo Vautier is a talented artist and graphic designer based on the Mornington Peninsula. Her windows look out over Port Phillip Bay and she loves to paint the huge container ships that pass through her landscape every day.

She creates the ship panels using mixed media collage on wood. Jo says 'my aim is to capture a snapshot of the ships' majestic beauty as they silently pass by; a vignette, with the sea and sky as supporting backdrops and the horizon line strong and distinct." She adds that 'the recycled wood adds its own random patterns and texture."

Each painting is unique, depending on the size of the reclaimed wood, as well as the ships that have captured her attention. To have one on the wall at home would encourage you to dream of slow, lazy summer days looking out at the bay!

Jo Vautier's ship panels range in price from $100 to $280. They can be found at www.kjodesign.com.au and at a couple of stores on the Mornington Peninsula. Contact Jo via her website for more information.
